Kaio marketing director

Meet Alistair - Director of Kaiō, Squarespace designer and YOUR partner in website design and SEO

Website Design - What is the process?

1. Initial Meeting Online

I start with a free 30 minute call to find out what your requirements are and make initial introductions and plans. This is where we discover your unique identity and what you like and don’t like. Following the meeting I send a proposal. If you are happy go ahead you pay 50% of the total cost of the project.

2. Send content

Once I have established your requirements it’s time to start sending your content and images over for the various navigation sections such as services, about, products, pricing, news. These would have already been prewritten by you or a professional copywriter.

3. The next few weeks

In week one I will get your home page designed and agreed, week two is focused on building the other internal pages. In week three I will look at revisions and minor changes and then I finish up on week four with basic SEO, third party and social media integrations and mobile design.

4. After the launch

Once your website is up and running I will send you a video showing how to get around the back office and make changes going forward, I will also hand over the ownership of the website to you. This is when you pay the remaining 50% for the project and you are all set.

Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) - What is the process?

Search engine optimization is the process of maximising the number of visitors to a particular website by ensuring that the site appears high in the list of results on Google (or another search engine) when a search is made by an individual. In short, SEO improves your website ranking online. Learn more HERE.

Weeks 1-4

I start by researching your target keywords and getting your existing pages optimised for those keywords. I then update your meta titles and descriptions and image alt tags and image file sizes. Finally I submit your website to be indexed on Google search console and Google analytics. You will not rank at this time if you are a new website because Google doesn’t know your site exists yet. Basically this period is about getting your house in order.

Weeks 5-8

I begin to create blog content around your keywords for you to share on social media and to be used for backlink outreach in future months. I continue to monitor your indexing on Google search console and perform general maintenance on your current pages. You might start to see small increases in rank but nothing significant at this stage. We are still building a foundation.

Weeks 9-12

I begin backlink outreach using your blog content to relevant websites connected to your industry with a high domain authority. The weekly blogs will also continue building interest in your website from Google and other websites. By this time you should be seeing a reasonable increase in rank from your original starting rank.

Weeks 13-16 (ongoing)

The backlink outreach and blogs continue as well as the regular audit of your website to make tweaks to under performing pages. It is now a continual process of building backlinks and domain authority all the way to page one. At this stage you may even start to see your website competing with your competitors and ranking on page one for some keywords. The harder to rank keywords will take longer.
